All candidates chosen for the P.C.A. program participate in an intensive Full Time 7-week training to prepare for employment.
Trainees must successfully complete the training to be offered a position as a Patient Care Assistant.
The training is:
- NO COST. All books, materials, uniforms, etc. are included in the limited scholarships awarded to selected candidates
- FULL TIME Monday through Friday for 7 weeks
- Located at the MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center campus
- 2 weeks of classroom training and 5 weeks of clinical rotations
To successfully graduate from the training and be offered a position as a Patient Care Assistant all trainees must have:
- PERFECT attendance habits
- Demonstrate professionalism
- Pass all practical and clinical exams demonstrating the knowledge necessary to perform the functions of a Patient Care Assistant
